Alpine Campground is located on some gently rolling hills on the northeast shore of Palisades Reservoir near Alpine, Wyoming. It sets in a mature forest and most campsites have some shade and the underbrush provides some level of privacy. It was very busy! We had to go elsewhere to find a campsite for the night even though we were there on a Wednesday in July.
Campsites: There are 16 campsites in the main campground. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit with attached grate. The road and driveways are gravel. There are 3 group sites, Loop A, B and C. A is one large central site, B has several individual sites and a central table area while C is made up of several rather old individual sites.
Host on Site: Yes
Water: Yes, there is a pressurized water system with cool clear water.

Electricity Available: No
Restroom: The vault style outhouses were clean and stocked with toilet paper.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouses are handicap accessible.
Firewood: Firewood may be purchased from the host for $6 per bundle.
Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area: No
Recreation: Camping, fishing, hiking, 4wheeling and photography.
Fishing: Fishing is available in Palisades Reservoir but the access from the campground is not good. The water is shallow when the water level is up and when the level drops the shallows become a large mud flat. There is a boat launch at Alpine, Wy only a couple miles to the east. Check the Idaho regulations here.
Wildlife: Deer, elk, moose, grizzly and black bear live here. While Osprey and Bald Eagles fish the reservoir.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for these nearby campgrounds; Mike Harris Campground, Pine Creek Campground, Riverside Park Campground, Falls Campground, Palisades Creek Campground, Big Elk Creek Campground, Calamity Campground, Blowout Campground and McCoy Creek Campground.
Fee Schedule: Double sites are $24 per day, singles are $12 and your extra vehicle is another $6. I have not found a price for the group sites. These prices are for 2012.
Campground Reservations: At the time of our visit campsites were reservable. However, as I write this Alpine Campground in not showing as reservable on either recreation.gov or reserveamerica.com.
Phone service: There is not pay phone at the campground but there is in Alpine, Wyoming. We had reception on our Att cell phones.
Nearby Services: Most supplies like gas, food, pop and fishing supplies can be found at Alpine, Wy.
RV Dumping Site: There may be an RV dump station at Alpine but I know there is one at Riverside Park below Palisades Reservoir.
