Name: Knife Edge Campground

Knife Edge Campground is situated between US Hwy 12 and the Lochsa River. It is heavily forested with cedar and fir trees. The roadway and driveways are a little rough but it's free!

Campsites: There are 5 tent / RV camping sites that are more secluded than Apgar and Wild Goose campgrounds down the river a few miles.

Water: There is no drinking water available at Knife Edge Campground.

Garbage Services: Garbage service is available.

Restroom: Yes, a very well maintained vault style outhouse.

Handicap Accessible: It is handicap accessible but the campground would be a bit rough.

Pets: Yes, but on a leash only.

Recreation: The main attraction is the Lochsa River for both fishing and the whitewater.

Fishing: The Lochsa River is available for fishing salmon, steelhead and trout. There are also many streams in the area. However, most are very steep and small. One would be wise to check the fishing regulations.

Boating: Knife Edge is a river access point.

Wildlife: This is bear country so use caution with your food and garbage.

Phone service: No phone or cell service.

Nearby Services: Gas, pop, water, phone etc. are available at Lowell, Idaho, to the west on Hwy 12. It is 11.5 miles to the west.

RV Dumping Site: No.

Location/Driving instructions: From Kooskia, Idaho, on Hwy 12, travel east 33.1 miles. The campground is on the right.
