Name: Riley Creek Recreation Area

Riley Creek Recreation Area campground is a nicely developed campground along Lake Pend Oreille, and is the largest campground in the Albeni Falls project by the Army Corps of Engineers. This campground is perfect for large RV's and for your family camping trip as there is something for everyone. There are paved roads and paths throughout, a large picnic area with boat docks, a beautiful beach, a large playground, horseshoe pits, volleyball, basketball courts and bicycle racks.

Campsites: There are 67 sites for camping. Most of them are not very private, but some allow a little privacy. The sites are gravel, with paved roads throughout.

Host on Site: Yes, there are hosts on site.

Water: Yes, there is pressurized water which tastes good.

Garbage Services: Yes, there is garbage service available complete with aluminum can recycling.

Restroom: The restrooms have flushing toilets and hot showers. There are large dish washing sinks outside the restrooms for your convenience.

Handicap Accessible: Yes, very nice accommodations.

Firewood: Firewood for sale at the campground.

Pets: Pets must be on a leash or caged at all times. This is strictly enforced.

Picnic Area: There is a large picnic area.

Recreation: Amphitheater, swimming, fishing, paved trails, water skiing, volleyball, basketball, playground, horseshoe pits, bicycle paths and racks, and cross country skiing in the winter.

Fishing: Yes, great fishing on lake Pend Oreille, and a fish cleaning station near the fishing area.

Boating: Yes, there are boat ramps, boat docks and extra parking for your truck and trailer.

Swimming: Yes, there is a nice roped off swim area with no lifeguard on duty.

Phone service: There is a pay phone on site and full cell phone reception.

Nearby Services: For those camping supplies like pop, marshmallows, gas, propane and food, Laclede, Idaho, is a little over a mile away.

RV Dumping Site: Yes, there is a dump station.

Location/Driving instructions: Riley Creek Recreation Area is located just outside of the small town of Laclede, fourteen miles west of Sandpoint, Idaho. If you are coming from Sandpoint, you will turn left onto Riley Creek Rd and travel .4 miles. Turn Right on Riley Creek Park Rd, and travel another .7 miles to the Campground entrance.

Fees And Reservations: Yes, you may reserve a site at recreation.gov. $24 per night, $10 for an extra vehicle. Camper April just informed me the price has gone from $21 to $24 per night, Thanks April!

Well I'm not sure if I'll visit Idaho parks again, too bad, people are wonderful and country is beautiful... why do they add on an extra veh fee... would they rather I run my motorhome in and out if I need to go to town or visit a local attraction. It's just so sad, motorhome and toad $35 a nite?? I've got solar I don't need electricity...

We have been here numerous times over the years. So wonderful, staff always nice and everything is very well kept and clean! Beautiful campground, lots to do!!
